WEEK 59

This Week From Elder Colin Eyre in Vina del Mar Chile:

This week was pretty good!  I'm pretty sad that BYU lost to Utah but it's okay I've got a lot of time to walk it off and think about my investigators :)

Sunday was pretty cool because two of our investigators came to church.  It just made me really happy to see them walk into the chapel.  I have also learned that if an investigator comes to church they always need a ton of people to be their friend. It makes them feel so much better.

We are teaching this eight year old boy who's mom is inactive.  He doesn't really count as an investigator because he is eight.  Anyway it is still really cool because he and his mom are coming to church and he wants to be baptized.  It really has opened the door for a lot of blessings to come into their lives!  The gospel really is a big helper to our happiness :).

Life is good here in Chile!  It's almost the 18 de Septiembre so it is kind of like Chile's 4th of July!  They will throw big parties and eat a lot of meat so that should be fun!

I love everyone and hope all is well in the States.

This Week From Elder Colby Eyre in Santiago Chile:

Hey Family this week was pretty fun!  Our branch celebrated the 18th of September (which is like 4th of July for us) with a BBQ and fun activity.  We were able to get an investigator to come with us which was great.

The other exciting news is we have a baptism this Saturday with my little amigo Sebastian.  My comp is going to baptize him and I will be confirming him this Sunday. I am pretty pumped for this weekend!

Today we had changes.  I kept my companion Elder Martinez but we picked up another missionary, Elder Lopez, who needed a comp.  Now we're cruising around like the three musketeers:). Elder Lopez is from Argentina and seems to be pretty cool so far.

A miracle this week happened on Sunday.  It was fast and testimony meeting and one of our investigators got up and bore his testimony!  It was so great and my comp and I were in total shock.  It was awesome!

Hope all is well back home.

WEEK 58

This Week From Elder Colin Eyre in Vina del Mar Chile:

This week was pretty good my comp and I just have a good time together.  We have a squad of friends here that love to play ping pong with us and after we teach them a lesson.  My hope is that maybe one day we can baptize them all!

Anyways life is good here.  I think one thing that I'm learning on my mission is that faith is very important.  It's really easy to just think that nothing will happen in the area that you're serving in or that someone will never be able to get baptized.  I have noticed that when I start to have faith in the people that they will go to church many times it actually happens and I just love it! AHH YAA!

I hope that everyone in Utah is enjoying the fun in the sun I can't believe its almost General Conference in October - haha I'm way pumped! Have a great week! :)

This Week From Elder Colby Eyre in Santiago Chile:

What's up family!  This week was pretty great.  It is crazy to me how fast the weeks are flying by.

This week we have been focusing on this awesome family that I mentioned a few weeks ago when the spirit guided us to visit them.  The amazing thing is the last three weeks the father and son have been coming to church.  The little boy is just eight years old and is now preparing to be baptized.  He is so excited too!  It is really a miracle to see how the Lord works because the work that we are doing is his work and it is my job as a missionary to be an instrument in his hand.  I have just seen this be carried out this past few weeks with this family and I just love it.

I hope everyone at home is doing great and I love you all.

WEEK 57

This Week From Elder Colin Eyre in Vina  del Mar Chile:

This Week From Elder Colby Eyre in Santiago Chile:

Hi Family,
This was has been pretty good!  We moved into a new house that is way sweet!  My companion and I both have our own bathroom.  It's like a dream pension here in Chile!

This past Sunday we had three of our investigators come to church which is awesome but at the same time a little crazy trying to make sure they know where to go and feel comfortable.

On Monday we visited a family that is less active.  It was so awesome because she said the night before she had prayed and made the decision to go to church the next Sunday.  Her son also said that he wants to be baptized.  It is so awesome to be an instrument in the Lord's hands and see someone's heart change because of the Holy Ghost.

I love you all back home.  Have the best week!
