WEEK 73

This Week From Elder Colin Eyre in Vina del Mar Chile:

This week was good we have been helping our friend Joel prepare for baptism which is fun.  He is planning to be baptized this Friday and then receive the Holy Ghost the day of Christmas haha how cool is that:)  My comp and I are pretty happy about it!

Right now we are working with several families and it makes me so happy.  I love being here during Christmas.  Sometimes it is hard to be away from the family but at the same time it's awesome to be helping others.  I love the Chileans they are really funny and I sure love it:)

I hope all is well in Utah and that everyone can enjoy Christmas and serving others. #ILUMINAelMUNDO

This Week From Elder Colby Eyre in Santiago Chile:

Hey guys this week down here in Chile has been fun, super hot but fun. Especially because this on New Years Eve my comp and I are going to have the opportunity to baptize a sweet girl named Monserrat.  It is going to be really fun I'll try and send pics next week.

I have also loved all my Christmas letters from the family.  It has really helped to get into the Christmas spirit and think all about Christ. This week my Grandmother sent me a letter with a story about not just knowing scriptures and words but also knowing the man behind them CHRIST our Savior and redeemer.  I really loved it and thought a lot about and how well do I truly know my Savior.  It has made me think about do I feel the words in my heart or just have them memorized to share with people. Being honest I strive everyday to know Christ better.  On my mission I get a front row seat in seeing Christ work in people's lives and I know that he really lives!  I invite everyone to strive to know Christ better and feel his love for us.

I love all you guys back home so much and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

WEEK 72

This Week From Elder Colin Eyre in Vina del Mar Chile:

This week was pretty good we are working  hard!  We have been trying to be with the investigators a lot so that they can be prepared for baptism.   We are teaching the family of Margot and they are just awesome and so funny!  The parents are not married and they are planning to get married soon.  When you get married in Chile when you need two people that can witness the marriage.  They asked me to be one of those witnesses so that will be awesome.  Their son is also going to be baptized the 23rd of diciembre so I'm pumped about that:)))

This Christmas season has been fun.  I love trying to to things with all the families here and see people put their trust in the Lord because they receive so much happiness!  Anyways thanks for the prayers and the love.  I love every one in the USA so much haha and in Chile but have a solid week and enjoy the snow:)

This Week From Elder Colby Eyre in Santiago Chile:

Hey guys this week has been super awesome.  My amazing mom has sent me 25 Christmas letters from family and friends with 25 great stories for Christmas.   I have been thinking a lot about Christ and his love for us. I just love the new Christmas video for this year on LDS.ORG.  With all the stories I have been reading it also has made me think of service and the great service that the Savior has done for each one of us.  I have thought about how I can serve others and the joy that I receive when I serve someone else. I have found that on my mission I have been filled with joy to be able to serve others and help them gain a testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ. It has made me so thankful for everything that I have and I know that my Savior lives and that he loves each and every one of us.

Have a great week everyone I love you all.

WEEK 71

This Week From Elder Colin Eyre in Vina del Mar Chile:

This week was pretty good we have been working a ton.  We have been working with Hermana Margot's family.  They are a large family of eight and are originally from Peru.  One of the kids, Joel has already set a baptism date so that is super exciting!  The family is just so nice and the dad even gave me a real cool shirt for a gift :)

We are also working with another family and they aren't able to go to church but they feel really good when we share our message with them which is awesome:)  I know the Lord is blessing us so much and if we can have faith in him we can recieve many blessings through the gospel of Jesus Christ!

I had to go to ViƱa this week which is like five hours away from my little pueblo but it was fun and I learned a lot.  I had to do a ton of contacts in the night which is just walking around and talking to people.  Well we met some Chinese dude that didn't speak any Spanish haha!  It was way funny because I said in Spanish to him, "Hey we have a present for ya!" Then he speaks back in English, "Umm I don't speak Spanish!" I was like, "Hey that's ok I speak perfect English too!"  It was pretty funny :)

I'm happy so happy to be on the mission but I still miss the family and the snow a lot:) Anyway, love all you guys so much have a good week.

This Week From Elder Colby Eyre in Santiago Chile:

Hey guys this week has been super awesome!  I love the new Christmas video of Light The World that the church put out.  We have been having lots of fun and have been sharing all the Christmas cards with tons of different people in the street and it's super fun to do! I can't tell you how many times I've seen the video but every time that I see it I can definitely feel the spirit and I love it.  I can feel the love the Lord has for us and how important it is to show that same love to people around us by serving them.  I know that by serving people we will not only be able to light our own lives but also the lives of the people we serve.  I invite everyone to go to mormon.org and see how you can light up the world.

This past week I have been studying about our Savior so that I can grow to be more thankful for what he has done for us.  I know that thanks to him we can have eternal families and can have lots of joy in our lives!  I love all of you guys so much back home and hope you all have a Merry December and can remember to light up the world with Christ!

WEEK 70

This Week From Elder Colin Eyre in Vina del Mar Chile:

This week was pretty good.  So much has happened but we saw a huge miracle with a family we have been teaching this week.  We had a Stake Conference in a place called Los Vilos and its like 2 hours from my sector.  I did not expect this family to show up for it.  The whole family showed up and went with our small branch to Los Vilos for the conference.  That was a miracle and and I just loved it so much!

We are also teaching a guy named Oscar.  He is just gold and is looking for direction in his life.  He is so interested to hear about the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It truly is so cool how the Lord prepares people to learn more about the gospel and I know that he can help each and everyone of us in our own personal lives as well :)
Anyways, I hope life is good in the U.S.A!  Currently I'm wearing USA socks and I think people are staring at me weird cuz of them hahaha but I don't care:)

Love ya guys have a good week:)

This Week From Elder Colby Eyre in Santiago Chile:

Hey guys this week has been pretty good. I definitely missed out on a solid Thanksgiving again here in Chile.  I guess they aren't very thankful... kidding!  Last year I was pretty bummed when I realized it was an American holiday, so this year I decided to cook a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving!

It was super awesome because this week we got to have a meeting with our mission president, President Morgan.  It was at his house and it was super awesome because he always teaches us pretty simple things about the gospel.  Sometimes we forget about the basics or just over complicate things.  He also talked to us about our testimonies.  As missionaries we sometimes try and make this super long perfect testimony.  Well that isn't what it is about.  We should be more focused on what comes from the heart.  When we bare our testimonies from the heart they may be simple or long but when it is from the heart it will be more meaningful to us and to the person receiving it.  Often the small and simple testimonies from the heart are the strongest :).

Thanks everyone back home so much for supporting me.  I love ya guys so much have an awsome weeK!
